Fuzion customers are usually trying to streamline project operations while maintaining compliance with DCAA requirements. And by streamlining, I mean they are trying to replace unwieldy out of control Excel spreadsheets that have evolved into monsters. Excel is basically free (in that it already exists on most corporate desktops) and people know how to use it. This leads to a lot of creative spreadsheet development in which Excel is used to store and manipulate data that should be in a relational database. This can work out ok in the short term, but as soon as you start trying to share the spreadsheet among multiple users, or it gets so large that there is a noticeable delay opening the spreadsheet, you are getting in dangerous territory and risk losing all that valuable data. Excel was not designed to hold notes on 3 years worth of conversations with thousands of contacts, or reams of information related to your project portfolio.

Fuzion is a real database application. All your data is safely stored in an MS-SQL database. We provide the familiar spreadsheet interface to data, without the limitations of a desktop spreadsheet. Give us a call if you want to get your data out of Excel.
